We understand that our puppies are a significant investment. However, there are substantial costs associated with raising a litter of high quality Doodles from fully health tested parents. The value of this health testing is passed on to the adopting family because there is a much lower risk of health issues in the offspring. We strive to produce puppies that will live a long, happy and healthy life with their owners.

Non-Breeding & Spay / Neuter Contract

Our puppies are sold on a strict Non-Breeding & Spay/Neuter Contract. Puppies are to be altered by 7 months of age. This will be signed before puppies go home. If there is a breach, you're health guarantee will be void.

Health Guarantee

Our puppies come with a 2 year health guarantee for any genetic illnesses. This guarantee can be extended to 3 years if they continue to stay on TLC  https://tlcpetfood.com/nutrition/elmtreedoodles

My puppies are on TLC, All Life Dog Food by the time they are 3.5 weeks old, which is blended with goats milk in the beginning and then once their teeth come in, there given dry. TLC All Life Dog food allows puppies to grow at their normal rate, which is essential to form sound hips and joints rather than high calorie puppy foods which have been proven to be one of the causes of hip dysplasia or make an existing problem worse.

I stand behind all my puppies and it is for this reason that I can offer a guarantee. I try to do the best that I can by my puppies, and that is why all of my adult dogs are thoroughly tested for common genetic problems before entering my breeding program. Not only do I want my dogs to live a long and happy life, but I also want the owners of my puppies to experience the same joy that I have in dog ownership. My dogs are my pets first and foremost.

After purchasing quality breeding parents for our program, our work was not finished. We then need to do various health testing to ensure that we were going to be producing healthy offspring. If it happens that our “future” parent fails his or hers health testing - and sometimes happens, we then place that pup into a pet home.

The value of this health testing is passed on to the adopting family because there is a much lower risk of health issues in the offspring. We strive to produce puppies that will live a long, happy and healthy life with their owners.

~ Our Contract & Health Guarantee written for the protection of both the breeder and the buyer - However, it is primarily written to protect the health and general well being of the puppy.

Thank you for potentially deciding to purchase one of our puppies. We want to make this a stress free enjoyable experience for you. Please feel free to email or call me with any questions or concerns that you might have along the way.

What to Expect

Completing this application is a step in the process to acquiring a puppy from Elm Tree Doodles, but it does not guarantee a puppy from this or any future litter. “As is standard business practice amongst breeders, all puppies are deemed “still available” until a deposit has been received. Please be advised, sometimes this can even mean the puppy that was still technically available this morning will no longer be available by this afternoon. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but due to the nature of the business we cannot hold a puppy for anyone solely based on verbally expressed interest, as unfortunately this often results in passing up potential homes in favor of someone who ends up not following through with the purchase of that particular puppy. We appreciate your understanding.”

APPROVAL AND DEPOSIT: I will review applications within a business day of receipt. Applications are processed in the order they are received. If your home is a good fit, I'll notify you within 12 hours. If you make a deposit, you're committing to take a puppy from a litter of your choice.

Once your application has been approved, we require a $500 non-refundable consultation fee to hold your reservation.

YOUR PICK OF PUPPY: Puppies will be assigned in deposit order by preference of the depositor as indicated on the application, and is based on individual litters. Puppy selection is the same day as puppy pick up. We ask that you make a choice within 48 hours of the birth of your litter. Should you elect to not take a puppy from the litter, the deposit can be applied to the next available litter. If you choose not to stay with this litter after your 48 hours, your consultation fee is forfeited and the fee is no longer transferable.

GOING HOME: We cannot hold puppies for extended times after the scheduled puppy pick up date. If the puppy can not be picked up on the scheduled day, a $75 plus HST per day boarding fee and will be applied for each night the puppy remains with us. If you have a big vacation planned or have events that would conflict with a young puppy, please know puppies cannot be boarded in a kennel until they have received their full immunizations and their rabies vaccination which cannot be done until 3 months of age. We offer Boarding for $65 + HST per day. We also offer Board and Train for $105 + HST per Day.

CONTRACT: We have a contract and will not place a puppy without a signed contract. We believe it's the professional thing to do to memorialize our obligations to each other on paper so there are no questions later, and for that reason it's a bit lengthy. If you have questions about specific terms, you need to contact us prior to picking up your puppy.

What a Guardian Home Is!

To become a guardian, you must not live more then 2 hours from the (Simcoe) Norfolk County area and have a fully fences in yard - NON NEGOTIABLE!

A breeding program is basically a forever home for breeding girls or boys. We would place either a male or female dog (not spayed/neutered) into your home and retain breeding rights. When the dog is old enough and health tested she will be part of our breeding program for a select number of litters. This requires that she spends some time with us at our home during the breeding process. A guardian dog will come back to us to whelp a litter of puppies. Once the litter has been whelped and she has raised her puppies, she'll then return to the guardian family's home. We strongly believe that all of our breeding dogs should be apart of a loving, forever family. Their well-being is a top priority for us, and our guardian program is designed to enhance the lives of our breeding dogs.

Becoming a guardian home gives the opportunity to have one of our top notch "Pick Of The Litter" puppies as a family pet. Our program offers responsible and fabulous families who live no more then 2 hours from the (Simcoe) Norfolk County area the opportunity to take home an intact puppy that we select from one of our litters. This puppy lives with you as part of your family, and receives socialization, training, love and care.

After the contract has been fulfilled, the guardian dog will then be spayed/neutered and ownership is fully transferred over to the guardian family.

How many litters will my dog have?

The maximum number of litters we expect from our Mommas is 5, this takes place between the age of 14 months and 6 years. You'll need to inform us whenever she goes into heat. When we decide to breed her, we may need to keep her for 4 to 5 days for breeding purposes. She will come to us again about 5 days prior to the puppies are due and stay with us until the puppies are weaned at around 5 - 6 weeks of age. We'll let you know well in advance what our breeding plans are for the prospective Mammas.
Males may be in our guardian program until the age of 7.

Under this kind of arrangement, expenses related to day-to-day care of the dog are guardians responsibility (food, annual vaccinations, general health care, toys, etc). Any expenses related to health testing for breeding purposes, breeding, whelping, and care of the puppies is our responsibility. Guardian family agrees to raise, train and care for an Elm Tree Doodles throughout there breeding career.

Once the dog has completed its time as part of our breeding program, I we will then spay the dog and sign full ownership over to the guardian! Before entering a guardian program arrangement, we sign a contract with you outlining all of the details and timelines, so everyone knows what to expect. It's important to us that our guardian program families understand the responsibility of raising a future breeding dog, and that they are happy to communicate regularly with us and work together. Our guardian families are chosen with great care and attention.

We do prefer that there is a stay at home parent, home office. However that is just a preference. If you are not sure if your family qualifies, please contact us and we will get back to you asap!
